Ingredients:

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up

Clean and grease a 9-inch cake pan

Place parchment paper inside the pan

Mix cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt with a whisk in a large bowl

Melt the coconut oil and add the orange juice, orange zest, vanilla extract, and coconut sugar to another bowl

Add the dry and wet ingredients together and stir until everything is well mixed

Add chocolate chips or chunks that don't contain dairy

Quickly mix in the apple cider vinegar

This will react with the baking soda and help the cake rise

The batter should be poured into a cake pan that has been prepared

Use a spatula to smooth the top

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until you can stick a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean

The cake should cool in the pan for 10 minutes before being moved to a wire rack to cool all the way down

If you want, you can dust it with cocoa powder or powdered sugar after it has cooled

Cut it up and serve!
